Hi there! I'm Chere' Evans, a nature photographer living in central Ohio. In June of 2022 I fulfilled a life-long dream and purchased my first camera, a Canon Rebel T7, in celebration of my 45th birthday. I fell in love with photography immediately and quickly realized I had gained so much more than I ever expected.

Photography helps me slow down and regain perspective. It helps me find serenity and reminds me of the Creator's love. I try to go out multiple times a week, if not daily, even if it is only for 20 minutes at a time, so that I can better manage the normal stresses of life. Photography has become a way of life that helps me find peace in the midst of our busy world.

My photos primarily focus on natural beauty in Central Ohio, whether in my own backyard or the Columbus Metro Parks, but sometimes a strong vacation photo will make its way into my gallery. Regardless of the subject matter, I find serenity while creating art with my camera. I hope that through my work you can experience a snippet of that for yourself.

My Position on AI

My art is my personal creative expression through the use of photography. While AI is a tool that can be used to create art, it is NOT my tool of choice. I never use AI to generate images or dramatically alter them. I do use Lightroom for my post-processing, which includes AI enabled tools for things like removing graininess and spots or selecting a part of the photo for fine-tuned editing. This is considered standard practice by most professional photographers of all genres.

As a software developer, I view AI as a useful tool to help us achieve our goals more efficiently (like dust spot removal on an image). However, I am strongly opposed to using it to replace human creativity or technical skill, and my photography reflects that philosophy.

In short, you can rest assured that my work is fully my own, flaws and all.
