A heavy snow dropped 18” on central Ohio in January 2026, and with it was bitter cold, with subzero (farenheit) wind chills. I chased frigid beauty the moment we could legally get back on the roads, and at Prairie Oaks Metro Park I found still, subtle beauty during the last remnants of light and into blue hour. This delicate remnant of seeds and stems of a Queen Anne’s Lace flower is an echo of the beauty in late summer. I loved the shadows of fading light on the snow with the lovely intricate lines on the flower head.
